Sunday, 19 November 2006

At 07:30 UTC today, Tony Bullimore reported Doha 2006’s position at 36' 41"S 112' 06"E  - 238 miles from Albany, Western Australia. He also reported very light winds from the west and now plans to reach the port at first light on Tuesday morning.

This will be a short pit-stop for the crew of Doha 2006 to replenish fuel and make one or two small repairs before continuing on to Hobart Tasmania.

Once in Hobart, Bullimore’s 102ft catamaran will be craned out for a final refit before Tony sets sail on his record bid to break the 70 day barrier for sailing non-stop around the world. The current record, held by Dame Ellen MacArthur stands at 71 days, 14 hours.
