Four weeks before the well-earned Christmas break United Internet Team Germany is still working hard for their success. Since the unsteady Spanish winter weather has brought many sail-free days, the team is busy to seize every opportunity for training on the water. “In the last couple of days we have seized every day on the water for a training regatta”, trainer Lutz Patrunky says.

Team Shosholoza from South Africa, Areva Challenge from France as well as the Italian Mascalzone Latino Capitalia Team were sparring partners for Team Germany. However, those opponents become fewer – the South Africans take their leave for a winter break already next week. The German team stays in Valencia and keeps working, several training regattas are scheduled with the remaining teams. “We also have an appointment against the French team on the smaller boats”, Lutz Patrunky says.

Match Race training under real-life conditions are on the schedule for skipper Jesper Bank the week after next. First he will participate in Malaysian Monsoon Cup with four of his team mates, starting November 28th. After that the match race team travels to Brazil where it participates in the Match Race Brazil.
