UK. Controversial Brighton Marina development approved

Tuesday, 04 July 2006

Brunswick Developments Group has received planning permission for its modified plans for a £235m development at Brighton Marina, which includes a 40 storey tower, 853 apartments and commercial and leisure facilities.

The initial plan was rejected by Brighton & Hove City Council, in November 2005, but the revised plan includes increased public amenity space and more parking.

Local businesses have welcomed the news, but residents say that it is entirely inappropriate and will detract from the town’s attraction to visitors.
