Sweden. Dometic introduces smaller stainless steel Origo stove units for boats
Thursday, 16 November 2006
Now available from Dometic Corporation is a new line of Origo-brand compact stainless-steel stoves for the boating industry.
The new stovetops are offered in single- and dual-burner configurations and include alcohol-only and alcohol/electric combination models. The compact sleek stainless-steel units are designed for flush countertop mounting, with a hinged pop-up casing for easy cleaning and refilling. A hinged tempered glass lid is available as an option on all units.
The Origo stoves use safe denatured alcohol with a built-in 12-volt glow plug for matchless igniting. The alcohol is absorbed and bound in a nonflammable wool material. The natural capillary action draws the alcohol from storage to surface, so no pressurization is required.
The alcohol burners provide up to 2,000 watts, and a burning time of approximately 4.5 hours at full power. The electric burners provide 1,200 watts when running on 115-volt power from a genset or shorepower.
The stoves are durable, easy to maintain and elegant. The stainless-steel surface simplifies cleaning and guarantees a long working life in the marine environment. They are designed for easy installation with a built-in easy-refill fuel reservoir.
The Origo stoves are manufactured within the EU. Prototypes of the new products were previewed at last year’s boat shows, and they are now available through Dometic’s worldwide sales offices and external distributors. In the North American market, they are now marketed through the Dometic Environmental Corporation sales organization.
