World Premiere for Admarel's Bridge of the Future at Monaco Yacht Show 2017

Plus two more reasons to visit stand QP56

Dutch superyacht electronics specialist Admarel will be showing to the public for the first time its new Bridge of the Future virtual reality experience. Visitors to the stand will be invited to explore a futuristic and highly realistic bridge concept for an 80-metre superyacht designed by Omega Architects using an Oculus Rift headset. This is, however, much more than just a show. By the end of 2017, Admarel will be using the technology as a core part of its bridge design process. Its engineers will be able to work alongside interior designers developing custom bridges where the bridge systems and the styling and décor are developed in parallel from start.

Using the accurate visualization enabled by VR, engineers and designers will be able to assess the impact of each other’s proposals and any necessary adjustments and compromises can quickly be identified and implemented. The result will be bridges that are both design statements in their own right and highly efficient command and control centres.

Also on the stand will be Admarel’s new EntryPod superyacht security system, a compact, mobile, all-in-one solution for superyacht access control and visitor communications. Designed to be mounted on a stand at the point of entry to the yacht, typically the foot of a passerelle, the EntryPod links into the yacht’s security system via a connection port. Guests and crew members already authorised for access can use a choice of verification methods including PIN numbers, card readers and biometrics to gain immediate entry.

And finally, visitors to the show on the opening day are invited to the Admarel stand for a ‘Coffee2go’ at the start of the show, to give them a warm welcome to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Join Admarel and Alewijnse Marine anytime between 10am and midday for a shot of caffeine and some relaxed conversation.
