During last weekend, German sailing capital Kiel on Baltic sea was the place to be for all the fans of sailing where they witnessed the start of the new racing season. 100 yachts from different classes has been on the staring lane and among those many considered this race as a rehearsal for the World Offshore Championships, which will also take place in Kiel later in August this year.
SPORTHOTEL, a Dehler 38 with Karl Dehler behind the helm who won last year’s race had a spectacular start at the International German Championship in Warnemünde, will try to win a World Champion title this year. An exciting race, until the final moments Dehler 38 SPORTHOTEL has won the podium with 2nd place in the overall standings of the ORC Class II - congratulations!

“The first serious test for the World Championship is now completed.” Among the most prestigious group ORC2 with 24 yachts competing, Dehler 38 SPORTHOTEL after 7 races finished 2nd place overall. The crew is confident: " The results of individual races show very close finishes - all within seconds. The upwind speed is very good, even in strong winds. After 3 long days we have finished the last two races of our first regatta in 2014 season. We had all sorts of weather the conditions, from 25 knots to 5 knots of wind…it was an excellent preparation for the World Cup for us . "- Says Karl Dehler

This success shows once again the transformation ability of the new Dehler 38! In the standard equipment, the Dehler 38 is a fast cruiser, ideal for a small crew and families. A variety of options creates the opportunity to increase the ship to a fast luxury cruiser or performance oriented sports regatta boat. ㅤ
