Dee Caffari passes the most southerly tip of South America on 16 January 2009 -- Onboard Aviva

Dee Caffari and Aviva have continued to perform well in the current conditions, recording the best performance of the fleet over the last twenty-four hours. Despite a severely damaged mainsail, Caffari averaged 14.4 knots as she chased down fellow British skipper Brian Thompson (Bahrain Team Pindar). The 10H00 race positioning ranked Dee Caffari in seventh, 60 miles ahead of Arnaud Boissières (Akena Vérandas).
