Germany. Senate Reception and IYFH a weekend to celebrate and learn to sail faster

Sunday, 12 December 2010

On February 12th 2011 sailors from Europe and from overseas will fill the Albert Schäfer Saal of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. With actually 12 speakers from the countries of Australia, Germany, England, Ireland and the United States the 2nd International Yacht Forum in Hamburg look set to become an exciting and - especially for racing yacht owners - an extremely useful program.

The speakers represent the accumulated know-how of the international racing scene - experience from the Volvo Ocean Race, the America's Cup - but also from the everyday races around the world.

3 reasons to participate in the forum are:

- The partners of this forum are the market leaders in yacht racing.

- The speakers are internationally established and experienced specialists.

- The closing ceremony will take place in a great location with a cute music group.

Last year 220 sailors attended the forum. Although the registration is possible only since two weeks, this year - as early as 2 months before the date of the event - the first 70 tickets were already booked.

But that's not enough:

On  February 11th 2011 the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the German Offshore Owners Association are inviting for the 4th time to the awards ceremony of the "German offshore Award" in the City Hall of Hamburg. The reception with drinks and finger food will begin at 17 o'clock, the end of the event is about 19:30 o'clock. In addition to the "German Offshore Award" there will be awarded also the "hanseboot IRC Baltic trophy", which this year was won by the FRAM XVII of the Norwegian King HM Harald V.

The admission is free, but the number of participants to the Senate reception is limited. Therefore a registration does not include automatically a right to receive an invitation - but an early registration increases the chance to be part of the show.
