Fusion, a worldwide leader in marine and car audio entertainment, announced today two new docking systems for use with its innovative MS-RA200 compact marine-grade stereo, the MS-DKIP marine dock for the Apple™ iPod™ and the MS-DKIPUSB marine portable-media-device dock. Providing the ultimate in flexibility and entertainment accessibility, the MS-DKIP provides plug-and-play iPod/iPhone music library function and control; while the advanced MS-DKIPUSB offers iPod/iPhone connectivity with both audio file and video playback, and features two USB connection ports. MS-RA200 users now have access to USB iPod integration, SIRIUS satellite radio, AM/FM tuner and VHF/Weather channels as well as iPod video playback, MP3 playback from a USB flash drive and connectivity to an externally powered hard drive.
Designed specifically for use in an exposed marine environment, the MS-DKIP provides MS-RA200 marine stereo owners with ideal iPod/iPhone storage and quick access through an easy-to-use iPod interface. The MS-DKIPUSB also offers the same plug-and-play connectivity as the MS-DKIP marine dock, with the addition of one internal and one external USB port for portable flashdrive playback of MP3 files or connectivity with an external hard drive. The combination iPod/USB dock also utilizes composite video from an iPod or iPhone for viewing on a compatible monitor. Both Fusion MS-DKIP and MS-DKIPUSB docking systems protect an iPod or iPhone in an IPx5 waterproof compartment, completely isolating it from the harsh marine elements. The docking systems are packaged with dedicated sleeves to fit compatible Apple iPod Touch, iPod Nano (Gen3, Gen4 and Gen5) and iPod Classic (Gen5, Gen6 and Gen7) as well as the iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS models. The sleeves prevent jostling and potential damage to the portable player in rough sea conditions or at high speeds, and ensures music plays continuously without the common skipping problems associated with compact disk players.
“We are thrilled to introduce two cutting-edge, full-featured portable-media-device docks to the marine market,” said Todd Crocker, Fusion Electronics U.S.A. “Providing the world’s first iPod/USB compatible system offers greater functionality for boaters and further sets Fusion apart from the competition. Both docking solutions deliver powerful connectivity options that allow boaters to add the perfect soundtrack for all of their on-the-water excursions.”
Fusion marine audio and video entertainment products deliver clear, pristine sound reproduction and dynamics that can be enjoyed above engine, wind and ambient noises typically associated with boating. The perfect full-featured docking solutions for limited space and discrete installations; the compact MS-DKIP and MS-DKIPUSB measure a minute 6.2-inches by 2.7-inches (157 x 68mm) and can each be installed separate from the MS-RA200 stereo to optimize valuable dash space. For installation versatility, the docks can be wall mounted for cabin or interior installation or fully-sealed bulkhead mounted for an instrument panel or exterior installation. The MS-DKIP and MS-DKIPUSB are waterproof to IPx5 standards and protected by a three-year limited parts and labor warranty with a two-year extended warranty option.
