Thursday, 22 March 2007
Italian police have impounded the 1991 35 metre Euroship/Oceanco motor yacht Findings, after its engineer was found dead on board.
At an inquest, in Blackburn, yesterday, it was revealed that Simon Johnson, 35, was found dead in his cabin, after his fiancee Elanza, who had also been working on the yacht, raised the alarm after he failed to call or email her. It is believed that he had been dead for about 18 hours, when his body was discovered by a security guard.
A post mortem has been carried out in Italy, but the cause of death has not been made known. A spokesman for the Coroner's office said it was too early to say whether Johnson's death was suspicious, or not.
