NOTICE TO MARINERS: Large cat tail bog adrift on Rainy Lake in northern Minnesota 

 

SAULT STE MARIE, Mich., — The U.S. Coast Guard has received a report of an adrift cat tail bog in Rainy Lake near Jackfish Bay, Blad Rocks and Stop Island Area Friday, heading towards Grassy Island.

The bog is near Buoy 7, light list number 17205, and Daybeacon 10, light list number 17215.The bog is reported to be approximately 200 yards long.

All vessels transiting the area are advised to maintain a sharp lookout, transit with caution.

Notify local law enforcement or U.S. Coast Guard Sector Sault Ste. Marie with any notable concerns.
