2017 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show!

Friday, 21 April 2017

Next month, Auckland’s best fishing spot won’t be at some remote spot in the outer Hauraki Gulf. It will be about 3 nautical miles inland, in Greenlane, at the 2017 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show!

Experienced and novice fishers, the keen and the casual, will all be in for a real treat from May 18-21, especially in the always-popular The Rock Fishing Hall.

This year’s highlights will include:

New Zealand’s largest fishing supermarket

Free Top Catch Ask the Experts fishing seminars

Chance to host a TV fishing show episode

Free filleting demonstrations

Renowned fisher and film-maker Tony Orton

Great prizes including a boat package and fishing trips to both Hawaii & Rarotonga

Nicky Sinden on lure rigging

Once again, The Rock Fishing Hall will be a giant 2000 square metre-plus fishing superstore. With four major retailers, loads of smaller specialists and over $2m worth of often exceptionally well-priced gear, The Rock Fishing Hall is the ideal place to finally grab that bucket list piece of kit, fill those holes in your fishing armoury and catch up on all the latest gear.

The free Top Catch Ask the Experts fishing seminars give you the chance to catch up on all the latest tips and techniques from New Zealand’s leading fishing maestros. It’s a great opportunity to learn how to fish smarter and improve your chances of catching that trophy fish.

This years topics include:

Catching kingfish with stickbaits, poppers and jigs with Fishing & Adventure’s Scott & Mig

Using salt water jigs to catch snapper with Paul Senior

The latest softbait techniques with Craig Robinson

Using light gauge rods, light drags and the latest techniques to catch marlin.

Stars of the hit TV1 show Fishing & Adventure, Scott & Mig are offering one lucky fisher the unique chance to host an episode of their show.

The winner will get to spend a day out filming with the Fishing & Adventure crew: as the host of their own Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show episode, calling the shots and hopefully hauling in the big fish. Once completed, the episode will be broadcast online to hundreds of thousands of viewers worldwide and presented to the winner to show to friends and family and share on social media.

To enter, simply head to the Fishing & Adventure stand in The Rock Fishing Hall and fill in an entry form — and while there, check out the free filleting demonstrations by Fishing and Adventure crew member Ben Parry.
