HanseYachts AG, one of the world’s five largest producers of sailing yachts, has acquired the rights to use the premium brand name Moody from the UK’s Premier Marinas Limited. Participants in the deal have declined to comment about the price. Moody Yachts stands for 150 years of British tradition in boat building and can boast of a large and loyal community of owners. More than 3000 yachts have been delighting their owners with their qualitatively superior construction, sailing convenience, and high degree of safety at sea.

With Moody, HanseYachts has expanded its own range of models with deck-saloon and middle cockpit yachts. Sale prices for Moody yachts range above the pricing spectrum of comparable Hanse yachts. HanseYachts intends to continue developing the Moody brand of yachts with its long-time designer, Bill Dixon. Production of Moody yachts will take place in Greifswald.

A contract has also been concluded with Premier Marinas Limited for a Moody yachts dealership. Thanks to its numerous locations throughout the UK, Premier Marinas has a large number of moorings and is well known as an established and experienced partner for Moody.

HanseYachts is one of the fastest growing yacht producers in Europe. HanseYachts’ success is based on developing its own innovative, clear style in designing the exterior forms and interiors of its yachts. The HanseYachts Group is currently building sailing yachts ranging from 9.45 meters to 19.2 meters (31 ft to 63 ft).

In fiscal year 2005/2006 (31/07/2006), HanseYachts increased its sales by 57 percent to Euro 66.3 million (Euro 42.3 million last year). Earnings before taxes rose by 144 percent to Euro 6.1 million (2.5 million last year). A total of 585 sailing yachts were built during fiscal year 2005/2006. At the end of 2006, the HanseYachts Group had over 400 employees. Sales at HanseYachts have increased on average by over 40 percent per year since fiscal year 1998/1999. Since March 2006, motoryachts have also been built by the HanseYachts Group after acquisition of a 51-percent interest in Norway’s Fjord Boats AS. Since March 2007, HanseYachts AG has been publicly listed on the General Standard of the Frankfurt Stock
