Product news:

Deckman is the world's most advanced racing software and is used by yachtsmen at all levels of competition, from short course round the buoys to long distance offshore and ocean racing.

Deckman V8 introduces a raft of new features and enhancements. Special attention has been paid to the start screen with new features including:

Toolbar for common functions, mark pinging and timer control; Start Grid function allowing easier visualisation of boat length distances; Improved labelling and modified colour palette for on-deck screens

B&G has also focused on ensuring the system is fully compatible with its WTP and WTP2 processors in addition to increasing NMEA connectivity and adding support for C-Map MAX and EuroNav National Pack (where applicable).

Other new functionality has been implemented to ensure Deckman remains the number one choice for serious navigators, including:

Redesigned Timeplots; Complete with toolbox for calculation of averages and selection of data sets to extract from the database as a Tab delimited file; Improved Route listing.; Clearer indication of range, bearing and rounding directions; Speed Tests now have the option of overlaying polar data with test data so theoretical and actual performance can be compared; New icons to give clearer indication on deck screens.

Deckman V8 provides excellent value for money, with the inclusion of 'Grib file' compatibility as standard. A Grib file consists of additional information that can be integrated into Deckman routes, but full compatibility on previous versions of Deckman was an optional extra. This means that services such as OCENS Weathernet are now essentially fully integrated into Deckman V8.

All new Deckman licenses will be V8 but existing Deckman users need not miss out, as a simple download can update any Deckman from V4 onwards up to the latest version, with all the new functionality.
