Award news:

Navman, a leading designer and manufacturer of world-class Global Positioning System (GPS), communication and marine products, announced today that its recently introduced iCN 750 image based navigation system with NavPix(TM) technology has been deemed the best new GPS product of 2006 according to Popular Science.

"We are very pleased to be recognized by such a respected publication in the industry," said Stephen Lee, Director of Product Management for Navman USA. "Popular Science has made a name for itself introducing people to technology that is paving the way for the future, and our innovative NavPix technology -- a new revolution in making navigation easier for the mass market -- falls perfectly into that category."

The Navman iCN 750 was the first in a new generation of portable, image-based, in-vehicle navigation devices, and was recently replaced by the Navman N40i and N60i. Designed with the latest in GPS technology, an enhanced user interface and a sleek new form factor, the two new N-Series devices leverage Navman's innovative NavPix navigation technology. NavPix lets you identify destinations as pictures, rather than just names, letting you navigate to your favorite destinations visually rather than manually entering in an address. NavPix photos can be shared by users globally on Navman's online community at http://www.navpix.net/ and downloaded free of charge to the navigation devices. Once images are added to a Navman N-series device, users simply touch an image on the screen to be directed to their desired location. In addition to downloading NavPix photos, both the N40i and N60i also contain an integrated digital camera, allowing users to easily compile their own NavPix library. With the push of a button, digital images, coded with the exact latitude and longitude of the location, are added to the device. NavPix images loaded on either N-Series device can be edited with labels and additional destination information. With NavPix and a new Navman N-Series navigator, users simply select a picture, touch and drive!
