UK. Raymarine receives ‘British Exporter of the Year’ Award |

Portsmouth-based Raymarine was announced as one of the two winners of the Franco-British ‘Exporter of the Year Awards 2006’. The award was announced at a recent dinner hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (FCCGB). At the presentation, which was held in London and attended by over 150 French and British companies, Raymarine was praised for its ability to innovate and adapt products.
The award, which is now in its fourth year, honours the best British and French exporters. Raymarine was joined by French winner Masilly SA, which is located in Burgundy.
Raymarine designs and manufactures marine electronics for the leisure yachting and light commercial boat market. It has 400 staff and a Ł122m turnover. “Raymarine has built over the years a solid partnership with an exclusive French distributor and today has a network of 400 retailers," commented Mark Bomer, a member of the jury and partner at BDO Stoy Hayward LLP.
"The French Chamber of Commerce is extremely proud to pay tribute to corporate excellence. Both winners are technology based companies achieving success thanks to very consistent strategies," explained Pascal Boris, President, French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain and Chief Executive Officer, BNP Paribas.

These French and British companies have shown that in order to succeed, you have to adapt and innovate so that your products and services suit the needs of your market.
