Boat builder news:

Fairline France will host one of the star attractions at this year’s Salon Nautique de Paris, when they present the fantastic, fast paced Fairline Targa 40 during the Show, 1st-11th December 2006.

The Targa 40 is one of the popular open cockpit express cruisers from Fairline and benefits from a unique combination of features for a boat of its size. The luxurious accommodation below deck benefits from two full cabins and a sofa bed conversion that together sleep six people in comfort. The boat also comes complete with a concealed garage that includes a 2.7m RIB with 8hp engine that can be easily launched and recovered without the need for davits.

“For the discerning motor boat enthusiast, the Targa 40 epitomises the Fairline concept of style, quality, usability, speed and performance,” says Murray Bray, owner of Fairline France. “We are delighted to be showing her at the forthcoming Paris Show and look forward to introducing more customers to her, as well as the other boats in the Fairline range.”

Powered by twin Volvo Penta D6’s and with a good power to weight ratio, the deep V hulled Targa 40 provides excellent sea-keeping qualities even when conditions get rough. A generous fuel and water capacity ensures a comfortable long-range capability.

The large cockpit area has a bar unit with sink, fridge and an optional electric griddle, teak steps lead to non-slip decks and a large teak-laid bathing platform with shower and bathing ladder. Side decks with deep bulwarks lead to a spacious coachroof sunpad.

Below deck a generous 6’4” headroom gives the Targa 40 a spacious feel. A well-appointed galley features high quality work surfaces and wooden flooring which provides the facilities for the most enthusiastic sea going chef, including a two-burner hob, oven and grill, refrigerator, sink with mixer tap and plenty of stowage.

A stylish main saloon offers a U-shaped settee which cleverly transfers into a double berth for further guest accommodation, the CD/radio, TV and video storage have been integrally designed.

The owner’s cabin and aft guest cabin both have full height wardrobes whilst the heads include a separate shower with rotating door. En suite access is gained from the master cabin as well as the main saloon.

The interior of the boat is finished in genuine lacquered American Cherry and eucalyptus or American white oak with satin finish. As with all Fairline boats, furnishings and fittings of the Targa 40 are to an opulent standard and display an absolute attention to detail throughout which provides a boat of beauty that is more than skin deep.
