Coastguard news:

Belfast Coastguard received a call from Northern Ireland Police at 5.00 pm yesterday evening, to advise that the jetskiers were missing. The Coastguard team from Kinnego was requested to begin a search and the Sligo Rescue helicopter was scrambled. The police also scrambled their search and rescue helicopter Rescue 44. Three independent lifeboats from Kinnego and Ardboe were launched and the fire brigade also joined the search.

Two jetskiers and their jetskis were found by the police helicopter at Ballyronan, another four at Gilmore Point by Kinnego Coastguard Rescue Team and five at Scady Rock by Kinnego Coastguard Rescue Team.

One person was safe at home in Antrim. The final four people were found at Mcneils Quay by the Ardboe inshore lifeboat, accounting for all sixteen.

Ian Murdock, Belfast Coastguard Watch Manager says: "We are pleased to report that all sixteen jetskiers have now been accounted for. The group started off from Gawleys Gate at 4.30 pm yesterday afternoon in groups of three or four, however, a short while later a member of the public called to say that only one had made it back to the departure point and the search was launched."
