Cruising news: When passengers cast off from Port Everglades, Florida on January 28, 2007, they will be singing a new tune on the Carnival Liberty, the newest and largest ship in the Carnival fleet. That's because Live Nation, the leading live event, and venue management company, has just upped the voltage even more on its new Country Cruise Getaway, a unique high-seas experience.
Already, the adventure combines two 1,400-seat, theatre headlining concerts with the #1 charting, platinum-selling, County Music/Grammy Award-winning Curb recording artist Tim McGraw with a 3-day sail to the Bahamas. Now, Live Nation has just announced that in addition to McGraw, the intimate concert on the Super Liner will also feature Capital Nashville recording artist Chris Cagle, whose own 6 Top 10 hits have made him one of country music's most interesting and successful characters. In addition to Cagle, a whole host of country music favourites have been added to the bill, including Blue Collar Comedy tour veteran Bill Engvall, Jypsi, Hot Apple Pie, Jamie O'Neal, and Nashville Hitmakers.
Live Nation's ocean concept was designed specifically to create a brand new experience for music fans in a totally unusual setting. The company has been building on the cruise music concept, first kicking off with a highly successful concert sea trip last year -- with Dave Matthews, then creating the Country Cruise Getaway with Kenny Chesney. And while music-themed cruises have grown in popularity over the last few years, Live Nation is the only company booking superstar artists of Tim McGraw's stature.
Not only will passengers enjoy an intimate concert with Tim McGraw, there are also plans for a unique Q&A Session earlier on the second day of their cruise, when he joins the Carnival Liberty in Nassau.
In addition to multiple concerts while the ship is at sea, there are a wide variety of popular, if more traditional, onboard activities such as relaxing by the pool, working out in the ship's state-of-the-art gym, indulging in a massage or facial, dining in one of the ship's four restaurants, and a number of bars and lounges. The super-liner will cruise for three days to Nassau, Bahamas where passengers can explore the exciting port. The ship also offers a fun and entertaining Camp Carnival for kids from 2 to 14 years old, as well as a teen program, Club O2, for older kids.
