Jet Ski manufacturer, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, has asked a federal court, in Texarkana, Texas, to order the impounding and destruction of any Sea-Doo personal watercraft that infringe its patents.

Kawasaki is suing Bombardier Recreational Products for infringements of five of its US patents in the manufacturer of Sea-Doo hulls and components. The Japanese company says that up to 11 Bombardier models use its patented parts.

In addition to its request for impoundment and destruction of watercraft, Kawasaki has asked the court to restrain Bombardier from selling any products using the technology. It has also asked for damages, which – if the infringements were found to be deliberate – could be tripled.
