Association news:

The British Marine Federation is preparing to promote British excellence overseas with its presence at the 2006 Annapolis Sail Boat Show.

The UK trade association for the leisure marine industry will be bringing new and exciting exhibitors, products and services to the US boating community at the Show, which runs from 5-9 October 2006.

Three UK companies – Petersen Stainless, Moving Weather and Boatshed - will all be exhibiting at the Show, on stand Land X4B, for the first time.

Also on the stand, each evening, the BMF will be entertaining visitors with the help of Boatshed.com at the latter’s infamous ‘Fizz @ Five’ champagne reception. All are welcome to attend.

Petersen Stainless

Petersen Stainless, which has exhibited in conjunction with Hayn Marine for the past three years, will be exhibiting at Annapolis this year in its own right to promote its HI-MOD brand of fittings for wire rigging.

“Exhibiting at Annapolis for the past three years has been very successful and has seen the HI-MOD Swageless Fitting and Failsafe Insulator become major forces in the US market. Having this presence at the Show ensures that we continue to raise awareness of our quality products and also gives us the chance to meet with existing customers as well as potential ones,” said Kevin Bell from Peterson Stainless.

“Increasingly the market is demanding full materials traceability and reassurance that parts are made in the country that the manufacturer claims they are; by appearing alongside our trade association, the British Marine Federation, we are reinforcing the fact that Peterson Stainless offers customers this reassurance and that there is still a place in the market for products manufactured in the UK.”

Boatshed.com

Over the last few years Boatshed.com Yacht Brokers has grown steadily with now over 20 offices across Europe and their latest office just opened in America. “This is great opportunity for all concerned” quotes Roger from Boatshed USA. Boatshed's independent database continues to grow at a fantastic pace; over 100,000 people have currently signed up as Boatshed customers.

Neil Chapman adds: "The key to Boatshed's rapid increase in numbers is the fact that customers are in control, by looking at all the information and up to 65 photos of each boat, they get a really good impression of what the boat is like. Remember, unlike other brokers, Boatshed go on-board every boat we are selling, meeting with the owners, taking all the photos, getting a clear under-standing of each boat. Boatshed systems simply give potential buyers more confidence before they travel”

Movingweather

Movingweather, a powerful Software application that allows users to access and view the latest worldwide weather forecasts direct on their own laptop or personal computers, will join Petersen Stainless. Featuring the latest technology, yet offered at a ground breaking affordable price, this is a unique yet simple user interface which allows the user to select exactly the region and weather elements from wind, rain, cloud, temperature and pressure that the user is interested in.

Nick Godliman, from Movingweather comments: “Movingweather was designed by boaters for the use of boaters and the structure of the software and compression technology means that the latest weather forecasts can be obtained by requesting and downloading very small files. This makes Movingweather an ideal solution for those wishing to collect the latest weather forecasts away from home via mobile phones, satellite phones or even SSB radio.”
