Company news:

Hibernia Atlantic, the only diverse trans-Atlantic transport provider, announces a first in the history of communicating across the Atlantic Ocean: Hibernia Atlantic is now the first transport provider to offer a full 10.31 Gb/s Ethernet capacity, allowing for 10 full channels of fiber capacity. Traditionally, carriers offer SONET converted to Ethernet, which only allows for 8 ports or channels. Therefore, Hibernia Atlantic's first-to-market offering now provides 25% more bandwidth, than other trans-Atlantic transport services currently available.

"The Hibernia LAN-PHY is quickly becoming one of our most attractive offerings for our clients," states Eric Gutshall, EVP of Sales & Marketing for Hibernia Atlantic. "International PTTs, ISPs, content providers, global investment banks and other high-bandwidth companies want to save on their network operating costs while increasing their capacity. Several anchor clients are already taking advantage of this historic offering, the Hibernia trans-Atlantic LAN-PHY, and will become the first adopters of the next big move in transport."

"From the test beds in the labs to customer implementation, Hibernia Atlantic has once again proven to be the pace-setter in deploying cutting-edge technology across the Atlantic," states Derek Bullock, Senior Director of Network Operations. "Although Hibernia has been selling LAN-PHY over land for several months now, this new LAN-PHY offering is the first of its kind across an ocean, paving the way for more efficient, global communication."
