Di Pearson:

Boating enthusiasts of all kinds won’t want to miss the 8th Melbourne Club Marine Sail Boat Show (MCMSBS07) to be held over three days at Waterfront City (WFC), Melbourne Docklands, from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March 2007.

Club Marine has signed on as naming rights sponsor for a record eighth year. Normally held at Sandringham Yacht Club, the new Melbourne Docklands venue will be used for one year while the Club undergoes major redevelopment to its premises and car park.

Along with the new venue there is also a brand new website informing the public of information including transportation, opening and closing times, prices, exhibitor information and an easy find map with directions including the way to Boat Show Alley, which will be located in the WFC pavilion.
At the Boat Show Alley Pavilion there will be something for everyone; books, boat charters, holidays, sails, spars, sailing schools, clothing, shoes, - if its something to do with boating, it will be there. And all the top name yachts will have in-water displays for those looking to buy a new yacht.

MCMSBS07 organisers, LeisureCorp, encourage all interested parties to visit Waterfront City during the show. On Saturday 24th, the show will open until 7pm to cater for boats that are participating in Yachting Victoria’s Club Marine Range Series. Berthing will be available at the Docklands and water taxis will operate from a nearby marina which will give boat owners the opportunity to visit the Show and enjoy the concert and fireworks.

By attending the MCMSBS07, visitors have the chance to win a five-night Bareboat (self sail) Charter Holiday with Sunsail in the Whitsunday's.

And there’s lots to enjoy, with entertainment for the whole family. If you ever wanted to try sailing now is your chance. All show visitors will have the opportunity to try sailing in Optimist, pacer and access dinghy style boats.

Fashion parades, safety demonstrations, kid’s entertainment, boat building competitions, food and beverages are just a taste of what to expect.

A general information booth will be located at the Club Marine Sail Boat Show Alley Pavilion entrance and ATM facilities are located next to the food court at Waterfront City. Restroom facilities are located within the Show area.

The MCMSBS07 will be held concurrently with Melbourne - Osaka Boat Week, which will also include the Osaka boats on display, school excursions, fashion shows, a cultural festival, boat rallies, a concert and fireworks, culminating with the Melbourne Osaka Cup Double-Handed Yacht Race start on Sunday March 25th.

Participating yachts in the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2007 will berth at Waterfront City from Friday March 16th. Already 20 entries are confirmed including two Japanese entries, Compass Rose III and Wild Boar, along with a number of local and interstate entries and visitors are encouraged to go and have a look at these yachts and meet the competitors.

The Show is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors during its three days.
