Association news:
As visitors poured into the Southampton Boat Show to admire the many exhibits on display 70 British companies are proudly promoting British excellence overseas, as part of the Superyacht UK pavilion at the Monaco Yacht Show. Nearly half (30) of the companies exhibiting are based in the UK pavilion illustrating how important this sector is for the UK marine industry and its leading position in the world market.
The pavilion includes a wide variety of UK companies ranging from equipment manufacturers and service provides to insurance, legal and finance service. The Monaco Yacht Show, which started today, is devoted exclusively to luxury yachting and is the biggest in-water display in Europe of super and mega yachts.
The show started well for Superyacht UK, an association of the British Marine Federation, with a visit to the Superyacht UK pavilion by HRH Prince Michael of Kent. The Royal visitor spent time meeting with renowned yacht designers Bill Dixon and Ed Dubois as well as admiring their yachts on display.
Toby Allies, Director of International Business Development at the BMF, said: “We are delighted to be here at Monaco Yacht Show, two years after our launch at the same event. The superyacht sector is a highly successful one in the UK and the Monaco Yacht Show provides us with an ideal platform to demonstrate the strength and success of British excellence. We look forward to a successful four days.”
Celebrations will continue for a few days, culminating with the Raymarine/Superyacht UK Networking Reception in the Pavilion today (Thursday)at 5.00pm. All are welcome to attend. |
