British Marine Federation news:
EURMIG, the marine industry European grouping, is holding a briefing on 26 and 27 October on opportunities for research and technology development under the Waterborne Technology Platform. Waterborne is the delivery mechanism for European funding for research for the next 7 to 10 years and initial estimates suggest up to €0.5Billion will be available across all maritime sectors. Recreational marine industries, represented by EURMIG, will be able to benefit from this but it is vital that industry understands the opportunities and is able to respond to funding calls.
The objectives of the briefing are to provide a detailed explanation of the funding programme and a networking opportunity for industry representatives to explore research priorities and possible project proposals. The event is expected to be attended by European Commission officials and research institutions from across Europe in addition to leading industrialists from the recreational marine industry.
The briefing day is to be held in Brussels and it is anticipated that costs for the event will be limited to €300 per person excluding travel but to include reception and dinner on evening of 26 October, accommodation and all refreshments. Members interested in attending should note the date in their diary now and contact Nik Parker at nparker@britishmarine.co.uk as soon as possible to reserve a place as numbers are limited to 50 |
