Association news:

The American Sportfishing Association’s 2006 Sportfishing Summit, the sportfishing industry’s premier networking and business management event, is less than two months away.

The 2006 Sportfishing Summit will feature a number of speakers you will not want to miss. Larry Steinmetz, Ph.D., president, High Yield Management, Inc., and a former professor of Management at the University of Colorado’s Graduate School of Business, will have you thinking much differently – and smarter – about prices and profits. Steinmetz was the keynote speaker at the ICAST 2006 Industry Breakfast, and at the Summit, he will expand upon his expertise in raising prices while maintaining high profit margins.

Special guest Ted Fishman, author of China, Inc.: How the Rise of the Next Superpower Challenges America and the World, will provide his insights on the emergence of China and its impact on the lives of Americans as consumers, workers, managers and citizens.

A panel of sportfishing industry experts will discuss doing business in a global economy.

Some of the most influential names in outdoor journalism will provide insight into issues surrounding marine protected areas and the power of public opinion.
