Company news: We at Jeckells the Sailmakers are delighted to announce that we have just been appointed the sole UK distributor for The Sailtainer In Boom Reefing System, currently on over 1000 yachts worldwide. It is a very easy and efficient method to reef your mainsail from the safety of the cockpit. The sail size isn't compromised either, as it can take a fully battened sail with a full and powerful shape. The Sailtainer will be demonstrated on our Stand G059 at the Southampton Boat Show. Many of you will know that Chris Jeckells has spent years in and out of hospital after being shot in the eye by an air rifle when he was a child. As a way of thanks to the hospital and to raise money for The MS Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, Break, Each and The Nancy Oldfield Trust, (sailing for the disabled) he will be pushing himself to the limit and beyond by rowing 123 miles non-stop over 3 days under all the navigable bridges of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
