Coastguard news:

At 08:30 this morning Holyhead Coastguard were contacted by the yacht 'White Spirit' reporting a six foot pedallo in the shape of a white swan adrift some 25 miles north, north west of South Stack.

'White Spirit' is circumnavigating the UK on a 3 month voyage, with her crew of 6 yacht-master students on board when they made their discovery. The crew was requested to recover the swan from the water as it represented a possible danger to surface navigation.

The swan was subsequently landed into the tender loving care of Holyhead Coastguard Rescue Team after transiting from the 'White Spirit' with the help of the Holyhead RNLI Inshore Lifeboat.

The swan, named Issy by the watch team, is now recovering from its ordeal.
