USA. NOAA to announce updated 2006 Atlantic hurricane season outlook |

Representatives from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will release the updated 2006 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook as the hurricane season enters the historical peak period from August through October. The six-month season officially ends November 30.
The announcement will be made at a news conference Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 11:00 a.m. EDT at National Press Club Washington, D.C.
Speakers to be Vice Admiral Conrad C. Lautenbacher, Jr., USN (Ret.), under secretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere and NOAA administrator David Paulison, director, Federal Emergency Management Agency Max Mayfield, director, NOAA National Hurricane Center – joining via satellite Gerry Bell, lead hurricane outlook meteorologist, NOAA Climate Prediction Center
