Company news:

Hurricane season is upon the Atlantic Basin and SOLA is delivering critical emergency back-up communications to ensure its customers have ongoing communications and continuity of operations in the event of another catastrophic season like 2005. SOLA Communications has provided several Emergency Response Units (ERUs) to keep the lines of communication open so that companies can continue to communicate to their customers, partners and employees in the event local and regional telecommunications infrastructure becomes inoperable. For these companies, the ability to communicate heads the list of vital functions needed to operate.

One company relying on the SOLA ERU is Mandeville-based FARA Insurance Services, also known as F. A. Richard and Associates, intends to use the ERU as a mobile claims office to process residential and commercial property insurance claims. FARA Vice President of Information Technology, David Richard explains, "Our catastrophe claims services division has found a good solution that will enable us to hit the ground faster after a catastrophe in order to begin and conclude the claims adjusting process more efficiently than before. High speed and reliable communications is an essential part of that process. We believe policyholders will benefit significantly from our innovations and investment in the SOLA ERU."

The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP), based in Port Fourchon, LA, intends to use its ERU for emergency back-up communications to ensure continuity of operations in the event of a hurricane. LOOP plays a critical role in the distribution of the Nations oil supply and is particularly vulnerable to communications disruptions given its close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico.

"FARA Insurance and LOOP have studied recent events like 9/11 and the last few hurricane seasons and the communications chaos that ensued in their aftermath. They learned even the most protected and hardened communications systems are vulnerable to extraordinary happenings, whether they be man-made or natural," says D. Lyndon James, CEO of SOLA Communications. "SOLA has been delivering ERU units and communications services for many years to provide critical continuity of operations solutions to communications problems following emergencies. It is a positive trend that companies like these are being proactive and rely on SOLA to protect their ability to communicate. In the long run, preparedness is much more efficient and effective than waiting for the inevitable."

The SOLA ERU is a self contained mobile communications and command center designed to handle all of the communications needs of an emergency response or continuity of operations for any company location including, satellite and wireless communication, Intranet, Internet, and remote access video. The ERU is contained in a detachable, air-conditioned trailer made for easy transport and can deploy and activate within minutes.
