Boatbuilder news:

From concept to creation the new Vision 22 emerges from the mould within 6 months. The first hull has been delivered for fit out. Boat #1 will be delivered to the US in November 2006 and Boat #2 is destined for Horizon UK.

A comprehensively equipped Turn Key semi displacement motor yacht... At almost 74’ the new Horizon 22mtr Vision may be below the minimum length to be classed as a superyacht but once on board it would be easy to see why such a claim could be made to that status by virtue of her accommodation and systems which match that of much larger yachts.

The Horizon yard ranks amongst the top five in the world for the construction of semi -custom motor yachts in excess of 21 metres, and maintains a consistently full order book for super yachts over 30 metres The new Horizon 22 metre Vision is the latest model to be released by the Horizon yard, and the first in a new line up of long-range semi displacement motor yachts up to 26 metres.

Powered by a pair of 1000hp Caterpillar motors, the Vision 22 will deliver a very comfortable 1300 miles from her 5678 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots. Combined with the additional options of the 900 gallon per day water maker and TRAC stabilisers, full redundancy and total self sufficiency on board is achievable.

Though not designed to be a performance craft, maximum speed for the twin CAT 1000hp 22mtr is 23 knots at 2300 rpm with half load and 17 knots at 1800rpm.

Two versions of the 22 mtr Vision are available, one with a fully enclosed and appropriately named Skyloung, the other with the conventional open flybridge configuration and fibreglass hardtop

Main Deck

On entry through the stainless steel sliding saloon doors a pair of traditionally styled L shaped loose fitting nappa leather sofas greet you, these are designed to uniquely face aft, allowing views across stern to be enjoyed.

Here, Horizon makes much of the yachts sophistication with flush, semi glossed timber panelling enhanced with inlays and traditional mouldings. The full beam saloon incorporates a sophisticated home entertainment system with HiLo lift Plasma screen, DVD and sound surround, plus a comprehensively equipped bar with ice maker and sink.

A stunning feature of the Vision’s saloon is the cleverly designed Atrium in the centre of the ceiling, this floods the area with natural light during the day, and entertains the stargazers at night. Optional Internal stairs lead to the aft guest cabin, or crew quarters depending on layout, plus access to the engine room and utility area.

Forward of the saloon and midships lies the fully equipped galley. Here use of a clever design feature allows the galley to be open plan for socialising or fully enclosed for privacy, by raising or lowering the aft facing wall using the HiLo lift mechanisms and tinted safety glass

In Open Flybridge configuration the area forward of the galley becomes a raised pilothouse combined with the dining arrangement. With the skylounge option the lower helm is replaced by a much larger galley, better described as a kitchen, plus a huge dining area. The day head and internal stairs leading to the upper deck are situated to starboard.

Upper Deck

The fully enclosed Skylounge incorporates a comprehensively equipped wheelhouse, forward facing dinette, day head and entertainment centre with TV and DVD. Opening windows to port and starboard assist the helmsman for close quarters manouvering. The luxurious internal fittings and furniture of the Skylounge match the satin gloss finished timbers and soft furnishings of the main deck, all comfortably climate controlled by its own independent air conditioning unit. Tinted glass doors provide access to the external aft area of the upper deck. Here a choice of fixed or freestanding outdoor teak furniture is available to enable you to make the most of the al fresco galley that houses the refrigeration, icemaker and barbecue.

Further aft the standard 680kg remote controlled SteelHead hydraulic crane and Avon 4mtr / 50hp Seasport RIB are located.

Stern flybridge stairs lead you down to the aft cockpit.

In the standard Open Flybridge configuration the aft recreational deck remains the same, whilst the helm station and seating areas are constructed from traditional external mouldings, protected from the elements by a solid fibreglass bimini top.

Another unique design feature on the Vision 22 allows for the upper deck drainage to flow within the stainless steel deck supports, stainless steel drainpipes no less!

Lower Deck

Curved stairs starboard of the pilothouse lead you down split-levels to the forward accommodation. The first 3 steps take you to the door of the master cabin, which surprisingly, is located under the foredeck. This luxuriously equipped stateroom houses a full home cinema entertainment system, queen size bed, sofa, dressing table and abundant full height wardrobe space. The en suite bathroom with twin basins, double shower cubicle or bath, lies forward of the cabin, thus living up to its maritime name of Head. A separate door inside the bathroom provides a welcome privacy to the wc.

From the landing a further 3 steps down takes you the guest cabins and the unique, office or fifth cabin, which is, located underneath the master cabin.

Both guest cabins are naturally en suite and come with full entertainment systems in each. Guest cabins can be either twin berths or doubles, or both.

For those who prefer fewer guests, the four cabin version of the Vision 22mtr is a delight. In this guise the master cabin occupies the full midships beam of the boat. Again, the standard equipment list is extensive, but the master cabin is more similar to that of a hotel suite, than a cabin on a 74 footer. The en suite bathroom has twin basins, bath with shower over and optional bidet, plus a dressing area and a lounge area with a home cinema entertainment system.

The luxurious guest cabins are situated forward and to port, both en suite.

At the aft end of the Vision 22mtr lies the crew quarters. This space can be customised to create a utility area, workshop and crew accommodation with double or single berths. The owner’s privacy is guaranteed as crew access is through a watertight transom door from the swim platform. This area may also be designed as a luxurious guest cabin with en suite facilities, approached via the optional internal stairs from the saloon.

The Vision 22s huge inventory includes twin Onan gensets, 27.5kw & 17kw, chilled water air conditioning throughout, hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, Avon jet RIB and crane plus full entertainment systems in all living areas.

Every piece of equipment you will ever need on board is supplied as standard including bed linen, towels, kitchen utensils, chinaware, safety equipment, flares and lifejackets.
