UK. Coastguard evacuates man in critical condition from Skegness to Grimsby by air ambulance |

Coastguard news:
At five o'clock yesterday afternoon, Yarmouth Coastguard received several 999 calls reporting three people in difficulties in the water south of Inglemills Point,Skegness.
A man and his two children were playing in the water when a man aged fifty got into difficulties. Several members of the public raised the alarm.
Yarmouth Coastguard called out Chapel coastguard rescue team, Lincolnshire sector manager, Lincolnshire ambulance and air ambulance and scrambled helicopter 'R128' . They also requested the launch of Skegness RNLI inshore lifeboat.
The man has been evacuated to Grimsby hospital by air ambulance. The man's wife and children have also been taken to hospital by 'R128' for assessment.
Sam Jessop, Lincs sector manager, HM Coastguard said: "It is unknown at this stage why the man got into difficulties. He is currently in a critical condition in the care of the medical authorities." |
