Product news:
Brunswick New Technologies Marine Electronics (BNT ME), a leading designer and manufacturer of world-class marine electronics marketed under the Navman, Northstar and MX Marine brands, announced today the latest addition to its cutting edge marine technology product line, the Northstar High Definition (HD) Digital Radar solution. Compatible with Northstar’s premier networked navigation solutions, the award-winning 8000i and the powerful 6100i with Navionics Platinum compatibility, the new HD Digital Radar offers superior target discrimination, separation and presentation.
Northstar’s enhanced Digital Signal Processing* (DSP) techniques, combined with 10-bit target discrimination, provide unparalleled radar images. Crisp shorelines, navigation aids, and stunning displays of harbor approaches including clearly defined breakwaters, slips and even moored boats are all easily detected and displayed with the highest definition on the market. The effects of rain and snow are also greatly reduced enhancing on-the-water safety during adverse weather conditions. Northstar radar images can be viewed in radar-only or in chart-overlay modes at adjustable transparency levels. When combined with Northstar’s powerful 8000i, the radar is also fully touch screen compatible. Users can easily adjust static or floating Electronic Bearing Lines (EBLs) and Variable Range Markers (VRMs) by simply tapping and dragging them to a desired range or location. Defining inner and outer ranges for Guard Zones is just as easy, users tap the screen at the distance required for each parameter and the zones are set.
“With the introduction of our new HD Digital Radar, Northstar is proud to bring another best-in-class product to the recreational marine electronics marketplace,” said David Ritblatt, president, BNT ME. "Our cutting edge new radar solution is second to none. With crystal clear clarity, incredible object discrimination and target detail, the revolutionary Northstar High Definition Digital Radar puts the days of looking at a radar screen and wondering what images mean behind us forever.”
