Boat show news: This year's Southampton Boat Show will see the European launch of the new Catalina 309 cruiser, by UK distributor Windward Yachting. Based on the best-selling Catalina 30 Island Series, the C309 combines all of the successful elements of its predecessor and promises to be as popular with cruising families. As with all Catalina's, the C309 offers exceptional value for money, even when compared to used boats. Offering larger than average accommodation for a family style cruiser, the interior is well laid out and has been finished to an extremely high standard. The six berth C309 has a large double berth aft and a further double forward and offers host of features as standard including a fridge/freezer with stainless steel interior, a two-burner stainless LPG oven with stove and a removable table in the main cabin which stores in the aft cabin increasing the living area in the main saloon when not in use. In mast main sail reefing is also a standard feature. The spacious cockpit has also been finished to an equally high standard and features sleeping length seats, a locker with a gull wing access hatch and a flat floor. Performance is excellent thanks to the 309's hull design which also ensures comfortable handling and motion under sail. Incorporating refined yet simple systems, the new Catalina 309 has been designed for easy owner maintenance leaving more time to enjoy the pleasure of her cruising and racing performance. Visitors to this year's Southampton Boat Show will be able to purchase the new Catalina 309 for spring delivery at a special show. The current price for the standard boat is £59,590 ex Vat. A special boat show package price will be announced on the opening day of the show for the duration of the show only.
