Product news:
A $0.05 per pound price increase for gel coat and unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) products has been announced by Cook Composites and Polymers. The new price will be applicable to product shipments made on or after July 31, 2006.
According to CCP’s Vice President for Composites, Paul Colonna, “Additional significant increases in costs of raw materials (specifically phthalic, isophthalic, styrene, glycols, and DCPD) combined with ongoing increases in service-related costs such as transportation have made the need for another adjustment unavoidable.”
“Having said that,” Colonna continued, “we realize that this is a difficult environment for our customers, and are continuing to actively examine every possible aspect of our business in an attempt to minimize both the size and frequency of these changes.”
With headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, CCP has manufacturing facilities throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company has the largest distributor network for composites and cast polymers in North America. Along with associated companies Cray Valley and Sartomer, CCP is the world’s largest and leading producer of polyester gel coats, and the second largest producer of coatings resins in the world. |
