Boat show news:
This year’s Christchurch Boat Show at the Westpac Centre, Addington, on June 30 to July 2, is going to be the “hottest” yet according to organiser Jayshree Dayal from the Marine Industry Association.
“The space inside the Westpac Centre is completely sold out, “ she says, “there are lots of new companies ¾ from throughout both the North and South Islands ¾ appearing at the show for the first time and famous fishing guru, Bruce Duncan, will be on site throughout the entire show.”
Jayshree Dayal says the new companies will bring a quite different look to this year’s event, adding products such as clothing, footwear and entertainment systems to the usual strong line up of New Zealand-built and imported boats, water sports equipment, chandlery and other marine accessories.
The always-popular Bruce Duncan, who traditionally draws big crowds as he explains how to catch more fish, will this year also be offering practical, helpful advice on topics such as boat maintenance, easy launching and retrieving, water safety and more. He will be also be available to answer questions and will be introducing new products.
Other attractions include Sealegs, who will be exhibiting their amphibious boats and Blokart who will be offering visitors the chance to have a go on these compact, fun and fast, mini land yachts.
Visitors to the show will again be able to go in the draw to win a great gate prize.
This year’s prize is a Fi-Glass Dominator and trailer with 70hp outboard motor, full safety package and loads of other extras, valued at over $30,000. The gate prize winner will be drawn on site at the end of the show on Sunday, July 2.
The Christchurch Boat Show is on at the Westpac Centre, Addington, from June 30 to July 2. On Friday June 30 and Saturday July 1 the show is open from 10am to 6pm. On Sunday July 2, the show will be open from 10am to 4.30pm.
Entry for adults is $10 and children are just $3, car parking is free. |
