Company news:

Built in Cape Town, South Africa, the Moorings 4600 is equipped with twin Volvo 55Hp engines, generator, and air conditioning. The raised helm station is covered by a hardtop and is located in the extended hardtop roof. All controls are led aft, for excellent visibility and ease of manoeuvres. The interior features four private staterooms with en suite heads and showers, a fully fitted modern galley and a full size navigation station in the salon.

Performance, comfort and a focus on outdoor living are the leading features of the new Moorings 4600 catamaran which will be joining the Moorings charter fleet this year in Tortola, Bahamas, St. Lucia, Canouan and Belize. The yacht was just launched from the Robertson and Caine production facility in Cape Town, South Africa and will be arriving in the Caribbean this fall. The Moorings 4600 will preview at the 2006 Annapolis Boat Show October 5 - 9.

The Moorings 4600 catamaran will be the latest of the new generation of cruising catamarans to join The Moorings charter fleet. Fruit of a close collaboration between The Moorings, builders Robertson and Caine, and architects Morrelli & Melvin (designers of high performance cats such as record breaking Cheyenne, and the Moorings 4000, Boat of the Year 2005), this brand new design offers the ideal vacation platform. "The Moorings 4600 design integrates a fast hull design with exceptional interior volume, in keeping with our strategy to offer comfortable catamarans for sailing vacations with good performance levels," explained Lex Raas, President. "The new raised helm provides excellent visibility and ease of handling," he added. It will be available as a bareboat and crewed yacht.

The new Moorings 4600 features a large cockpit with an outside dining area protected by a functional hard-top roof which replaces the bimini. Inspired by the Moorings 6200, the unique raised helm station is located in the hard top roof and is also covered by a hardtop. It has open access to the cockpit and all controls led aft, for excellent visibility, communication and ease of manoeuvres. The galley-up design incorporates a spacious saloon with forward facing navigation station and fully equipped galley with a cocktail bar and serving window. Accommodations include four double cabins with en suite heads and showers and an additional berth in each forepeak (one with a head).

The deck layout is clear and uncluttered, with walk-through access to the aft swim platform, wide side decks and the mainsail and jib controls are all led aft to the helm station. Additional seating around the transom which converts to a special dinghy boarding platform makes it even more comfortable for a sailing vacation. Sleek windows along the coachroof sides add to the elegant look of the deck and give the interior a light, voluminous feel, while louver steps from the foredeck to the coachroof shade the saloon and provide easy access to the mast and boom.

The 4600 contains all the top features sailors desire, including a superb anchoring system, good sail area, excellent ventilation, complete electronics package, CD stereo, electric flushing heads, twin Volvo 55Hp engines, generator and air-conditioning standard, and offers excellent value for money, for both charter guests and owners. It will be available for charter in the Caribbean this fall.

The Moorings 4600 is also available for purchase through The Moorings Advantage Yacht Ownership Program, with attractive guaranteed revenues, up to nine weeks sailing time each year and no operating costs to worry about, because The Moorings takes care of all the maintenance and expenses, including dockage and insurance. Private buyers (no management program) have the choice of a 4-cabin layout or a 3-cabin layout with a designated owner's hull marketed as the Leopard 46.
