CMMA news:
For all you fishing enthusiasts and those who want to know what fishing is all about, here’s your opportunity try to reel in the big one. The 2nd Annual Industry Pro-Am Fishing Derby, jointly hosted by the Canadian Marine Manufacturers Association (CMMA), the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association (CSIA) and the Competitive Sport Fishing League (CSFL), will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006.
Once again, this year’s event will be held at Goreski’s Lakeside Resort in Port Parry, Ontario.
"The 2005 Pro-Am event was good clean fun. I really enjoyed the opportunity to fish with the Pros; it's something you don't get to do every day,” noted Kevin Linkletter of Harbercraft Boats in Vernon, BC.
Registration for the event is $200 per co-angler, which includes lunch, pairing with a professional tournament angler for the afternoon, followed by dinner and an awards banquet hosted by Facts of Fishing’s own Dave Mercer.
At the 2005 event, while outnumbered by the Fishing Industry in numbers, the Boating Industry “outfished” them by a wide margin! This led to an “Industry Challenge” steered by Andrew Klopak of Lund Boat Company and Tom Brooks of Shimano.
The challenge is officially on. Let’s ensure the Boating Industry stays on top and takes first prize. We need ALL members of the Canadian Boating Industry to sign up and take part in this fun event that is a great way to not only introduce your staff and clients to fishing, but just one more way to Explore a Whole New World on the Water!!
Tom MacNair, VP, Sales and Marketing, Lund Boat Company says, “We loved the industry event last summer because we took the opportunity to involve our Dealer Council in a fun fishing day in support of CMMA and the CSIA instead of just more stuffy old boardroom meetings. It was a great chance to have some fun with our dealers, and have some laughs on the water trying to beat the boss!”
Come on out and enjoy a day of fishing and a day on the water with colleagues from the boating and fishing industries. More information can be found on the CMMA website at www.cmma.ca. |
