The Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC) awarded the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) three prestigious Silver Trumpet Awards for distinguished achievement in public relations. NMMA was specifically recognized for various communications efforts around the 2006 Chicago Boat, RV & Outdoors Show.

“This is terrific recognition of the great work being done to effectively promote and produce the Chicago Boat, RV & Outdoors Show,” says Thom Dammrich, NMMA president. “All of NMMA’s 23 boat shows are promoted by a talented team of PR providers, who garnered more than 600 million media impressions throughout this past show season with positive messages about boat shows and the boating lifestyle.”

The Silver Trumpet Award honors distinguished public relations and marketing communications efforts. The three awards received by the NMMA recognized the following outstanding communications strategies executed around the 2006 Chicago Boat, RV & Outdoors Show: Overall Show Media Coverage (Marketing), Discover Boating Patch Program (Community Relations), as well as the Indoor River and All-Terrain Vehicle Course (Special Events).

The Discover Boating Patch Program was launched at the 2004 Chicago Boat, RV & Outdoors Show, inviting Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Campfire Kids to learn more about fun and safe recreational boating. The program consists of four learning stations on-site at the show, designed to educate and entertain Scouts on boating and nature. The Indoor River and All-Terrain Vehicle Course were two new features unveiled at the 2006 show. Both features, scheduled to return to the 2007 show, were well-received by show visitors and garnered significant media coverage.
