Lindsay Lyons:

The remainder of the fleet is still racing, and the Boracay will have to wait a while to see if she can take first place on corrected time as well, however it appears that the breeze along the Luzon coast has dropped to around 7 knots and the predicted ETA's for the IRC boats should be taken with a pinch of salt. Burns / Kinmonth owned Mandrake is expected to finish any time now, having suffered badly in the light morning airs, while Drumstick, Siren, Moonblue 2 and Hocux Pocux 2 are expected to finish in close succession this afternoon.

At 0900hrs this morning, Hocux Pocux 2 reported "Are at the moment having calm seas, beautiful sunshine, bad company, a lot of other boats in the vicinity with Drumstick almost at shouting distance ... Haven't seen any locals yet apart from a bird, a few floating drums and two dazed looking bancas ..."

Further back in the fleet, Patrick Slesinger's Quest recorded good progress to put her on course for a win in IRC Division B on corrected time, with Walawala and Blackjack still fighting it out for line honours. Dream still seems on course to win Premier Cruising, with line honours still a contest between Hocux Pocux 2 and Moonblue 2, while in HKPN, Foreign Affaire remains well placed for the double, ahead of Tojai and Soko.

In the multihulls, Zuma has made significantly better progress than Long Reef overnight - Long Reef should shortly see Russian Farr 43 Carrera as she catches the back of the fleet on her way to join them for President's Cup in Subic.
