USA. Panerai to sponsor annual Museum of Yachting 12-Metre Regatta |

Officine Panerai CEO, Angelo Bonati announced that Panerai will partner with The Museum of Yachting's Annual 12-Metre Regatta in Newport, RI, on July 28-30, 2006. The Annual 12-Metre Regatta produced by The Museum of Yachting (MoY) with the International Twelve-Metre Class Association (ITMA) is one of the season's most prestigious yachting events, featuring 12-Metre racing yachts representing nearly 100 years of America's Cup competition. Panerai will also be the Official Time Keeper of the event.
The presence of Panerai is planned to enrich the event with new elements and to encourage the participation of yacht owners and enthusiasts. Today PANERAI is one of the most prestigious brands in haute horlogerie and its history represents a proud example of research, innovation and tradition, as well as being irrevocably linked with great nautical exploits and the sea.
William Doyle, Museum of Yachting Board of Trustees Chairman, said, “We are thrilled to be working with Officine Panerai, a prestigious brand, steeped in tradition and known for outstanding quality. This partnership is a perfect fit with the traditions of the Museum of Yachting's events and mission. The Panerai 12-Metre Regatta will feature approximately one dozen 12-Metre yachts including America's Cup winners Courageous US-26 and Freedom US-30 racing in Narragansett Bay on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, July 28, a Skippers and Crew Dinner for Saturday July 29, and the Prize Giving will follow racing on Sunday, July 30.
