Team Ellen:
10 Apr 2006 // 12:59: After making good progress overnight, B&Q has been slowed today by less than ideal conditions, as a heavy fog and light winds have engulfed the area around B&Q around 140 miles from the finish line. Latest data from the boat suggest that conditions maybe starting to improve although they are just edging along at 3-4 knots on an easterly heading in light 5-6 knot northwesterly winds....&QPUTS THE PEDAL TO THE METAL...
10 Apr 2006 // 18:54:Conditions have improved dramatically compared to a few hours ago, as B&Q heads south at 20+ knots, in north westerly 17 knots winds. They are now 89 miles from the finish line off the coast of Shanghai, with an expected ETA in the early hours of Tuesday morning (11/04/06). After crossing the finish line, B&Q will meet a pilot boat before making their way up river to Shanghai along the Yangtze estuary, which could take up to 8 hours or more before reaching the dock. Shanghai is one of the businest ports in the world and the river is heavily loaded with traffic from cargo ships to small junks.
