The Governor's Advisory Council for Hunting, Fishing and Conservation is seeking candidates to serve on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Game Commission's District Seven, which includes Susquehanna, Wyoming, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Carbon, Wayne, Pike and Monroe counties.

"The commission is a dynamic group of people who provide invaluable input to wildlife conservation and restoration efforts," said Ed Grasavage, chairman of the council's Game and Wildlife Subcommittee. "We are looking for a person who shares the commission's passion and who is adept at listening to the needs and concerns of the hunting and conservation community."

Commissioners of the Game Commission are responsible for establishing fishing and boating policy and long-range planning. Potential candidates should have an interest in wildlife and land conservation.

All members of the Pennsylvania Game Commission are volunteers and do not receive compensation from the state, but are reimbursed all travel expenses. Individuals interested in applying should send a resume and detailed cover letter to Robb Miller, Governor's Advisory Council for Hunting, Fishing and Conservation, Rachel Carson State Office Building, 400 Market St., 7th Floor, P.O. Box 8767, Harrisburg, Pa. 17106-8767. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 21st, 2006.
