Marian Martin Yesterday, Dutch TV aired a programme in which former Whitbread skipper Hans Bouscholte talked about leg 4 of this year’s Volvo Ocean Race. For non Dutch speakers, the most interesting part of the programme was the filming of the movistar near sinking and Bouwe Bekkeing and the movistar crew, in Ushuaia, candidly discussing the drama, the boat and the repairs. There is clearly a loss of confidence, summed up by Michel Joubert who said “We are going to go across the Atlantic in a boat that isn’t safe.” and by Peter Doriean, who left the crew for the remainder of the leg to Rio.
