Trade show news:

The Yacht Report (TYR) and Amsterdam RAI signed a contract on 3 March to incorporate SEAS, the trade event planned for May 2006, in the forthcoming edition of the METS, the Marine Equipment Trade Show. TYR held SEAS in the French city of Nice for two years in succession. The present cooperation is a logical step for both parties within the concept of the world’s largest marine equipment show. With the SuperYacht Pavilion introduced at last year’s METS and the annual Project conference organised by TYR, the two parties are joining forces to create a central and even stronger platform for professionals from the super yacht industry.

After two editions, The Yacht Report has decided that it would be better to combine SEAS 2006 with the international trade show METS than to continue holding it as a stand-alone event. ‘There’s no point in continuing with SEAS since it’s apparent after two years that the exhibiting companies are not seeing the number of visitors they expect, and at the same time we already have a strong relationship with the renowned tradeshow METS through our Project seminars,’ explains Martin Redmayne of The Yacht Report. Ids Boersma, director of International Exhibitions at Amsterdam RAI, is also very pleased with the cooperation and says, ‘Many exhibitors at SEAS already took part in METS and in view of our plans to expand the SuperYacht Pavilion at the next METS we can now serve the super yacht segment even better.’

METS 2006 is held 14 to 16 November 2006
