Company news:

Queensland-based distributor of marine industrial materials, MarineWare, has just announced the opening of their first Sydney outlet. MarineWare has been servicing boat builders, yards & painters throughout the Gold Coast, Brisbane & Sunshine Coast areas for about five years with wholesale supplies of structural and finishing materials, equipment and consumables.

As well as importing bulk quantities of various general-purpose and specialty FRP resins, fabrics and chemicals, MarineWare is an authorized distributor of well-known marine coating lines such as AwlGrip, International & Jotun. These products are supported by complete ranges of abrasives, tapes & masking materials such as 3M & Norton brands as well as sundry consumables such as sealants, brushes, rollers, rags and the like. MarineWare also carries a comprehensive line of personal protective equipment, as well as various air & power tools and associated bits and blades. According to proprietor Debbie Wicks there is virtually no marine paint-related requisite that is not stocked by MarineWare.

In Sydney, MarineWare is managed by Mark Swadling, well known to local boat builders, yards & refinishers.

“Supported by our Queensland team and of course the manufacturers, we are very confident that the first-rate service provided by Mark’s staff will be a useful resource for the Sydney marine industry,” said Debbie.

That service includes fully-stocked vans regularly servicing customers everywhere between Pittwater and Botany Bay as well as daily deliveries from the Rozelle warehouse in response to orders received by phone, fax & email. Each van is a stand-alone outlet; onboard computers issue invoices at point of sale.

“MarineWare has gained a significant depth of experience in supporting the robust marine industry in Southeast Queensland. We simply wouldn’t survive in that environment without efficiently supplying a coherent and relevant product range at very keen prices,” said Debbie.

According to Debbie, MarineWare is particularly mindful of the benefits to be derived from a well-integrated yet flexible supply chain.

“Quite apart from the goods we supply, our real ‘product’ is the service we offer. This means different things to different types of customer; to the one-man band it may simply mean ‘bring my stuff now’, whereas larger more sophisticated customers may have expectations that we tailor the format of their accounts, fit in with a ‘Just-In-Time’ program or offer Vendor Managed Inventories,” she said.

“My staff and I are just thrilled at the opportunity to test our capabilities in such an exciting environment as Sydney,” Debbie added.
