Product news:
FLIR Systems, Inc. has announced the introduction of the new ThermoVision Mariner, a powerful, low cost thermal imaging system targeted at the large recreational boating and commercial merchant marine market. Priced at approximately $7,000, the Mariner utilizes FLIR's ThermoVision Photon thermal imaging core enclosed in a marinized pan tilt that can display images on its own dedicated screen or through an on-board integrated display. Mariner provides critical navigation safety, search and rescue and security capability and allows boaters to see obstacles, debris, navigational markers, other vessels and land areas in total darkness and through light fog and smoke. Mariner also aids in safety and can assist in "man overboard" and other emergencies.
"The ThermoVision Mariner represents another addition to FLIR's growing line of low cost high performance commercial thermal imaging products targeted at large markets where seeing at night is a critical need," stated Earl R. Lewis, President and CEO of FLIR Systems. "We believe the marine markets, like numerous others, are ready for an inexpensive high performance solution to this need. Boat operators will use the Mariner the way they have previously used spotlights, but with greater efficiency and less loss of natural night vision. We are very excited to offer this product at a groundbreaking price," Lewis concluded. |
