| China & Norway: Norcontrol IT wins Vessel Traffic Management & Information System for Tianjin Port |

Product news: Norcontrol IT has been awarded the contract to upgrade the VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) system at Tianjin Port in China with a sophisticated new VTMIS (Vessel Traffic Management and Information System). The Norcontrol IT VTMIS5060 system is a continuation of the high quality and dependability standard of the existing Norcontrol IT VTS5000 system in place at Tianjin Port. It features an open system architecture that will easily allow interfacing to other equipment and further expansion. The current system at Tianjin remains in good operating order, however the VTMIS5060 system is preferred for further technical development and its ability to incorporate an Information Management System. In addition to Norcontrol IT's well proven VOC5060 display software, the contract includes new radar video extraction and tracking functionality, and features improved warning, logging and replay and remote display functionality. Norcontrol IT will also be responsible for supplying several subsystems including two new radars, a VHF system and equipment for network communication. The Xinghanglian Company of China will supply CCTV equipment. “The Tianjin VTMIS together with the recent Lianyungang contract were won against serious competition and reflect our growing position in China,” says Tan Yong Que, Managing Director, Norcontrol IT Singapore. “We have a thorough understanding of the surrounding Dongtudi radar site and its central equipment, and have already collaborated with many of the suppliers for a number of years including the Aanderaa hydrometeorology equipment, Terma radars and C-Plath VHF-DF suppliers. We are pleased that we continue to work alongside Mr. Chen Canbin and his team at our China office throughout this major project, which will also include expertise from our teams in Norway and Singapore.” |
