Boat show news:
Post-Wilma expectations are high for The Superyacht Event on Collins Avenue; the 2006 Yacht & Brokerage Show - the yachting industry’s annual gathering of the most luxurious megayachts in the world. Totaling more than 3/4-of-a-billion dollars, more than 500 magnificent vessels will cover 1.2 million sq. ft. of Indian Creek Waterway. The totally in-water show features yachts from 24–160 feet, valued from $200,000 to $25 Million.
Miami’s $ multi-million event, during Miami’s big weekend is expected to attract thousands of the world’s richest individuals to descend on Miami to “spend their wealth.” at one of the triumvirate of major events in town this weekend. The show alone represents an estimated $100 million in economic impact for South Florida’s marine, tourism and entertainment industries.
Rebounding from Wilma
The yachting industry is expecting a strong show to rebound from last year’s hurricane interrupted season; many more fly-in clients than usual are anticipated to make up for lost business from postponed Fort Lauderdale event; reports of sold out hotel rooms in Miami Beach and Downtown have hopes high.
