Sally, Claire & Sue:
Just a quickie to say it's been a beautiful calm, wind free, wave free day. No scary grey wave monsters trying to knock us into the ocean and no rain!! We've dried out wet bedding and clothes, cleaned and cleared the boat, everything feels less chaotic all of a sudden.
It has been extraordinarily hot though; so we took the plunge this afternoon and as Shelterbox slowly drifted we swum around her giggling. It's the first proper wash we've had in 3 weeks!! We've lost about half a stone in grime.
Claire & I took a wee peek at the transom to look for damage after the 'shark' incident. A few scrapes and scratches in the antifoul, a chunk out of the corner and a bloody great big 'ole!!!!!
"Erm" we thought! Well all we can say is thank God we didn't see it a couple of days ago in the really big seas. Well we're not sinking so it can't be too bad. Water has probably leaked through into one of the compartments between the hull and the cabin floor but otherwise we've still here bobbing about happily. Quite cool to have some war wounds though, something to show off with when we get back.
So off to estimate the size of the gigantic shark,
Kipper, Claireos & Sussie xx
ps Whilst I’ve been writing this the rain clouds have come in and Sue & Claire are out on the oars getting completely drenched he he!! I can't laugh too long though I go out there in 10 minutes!!
They've put out enough bowls, pots and buckets to hopefully collect enough water for a cup of tea.... we're almost out of ballast water by the way. Sue hasn't had a cuppa for 3 days! It's all go out here!
pps... and the wind has suddenly changed, we're heading SE i.e. backwards! Another unpredictable day at sea!
Rowgirls is crewed by Sally Kettle, Claire Mills, Sue McMillan and Jo Davies from Northampton Bedfordshire London and Berkshire
